About the Age Calculator

The Age Calculator is free to use and all calculations run entirely in your browser. Enter your date of birth to instantly find your exact age in years, months and days — plus how many days you have lived in total, how many days until your next birthday, and your Western zodiac sign.

How Age Is Calculated

Age is measured by counting the number of complete years between your date of birth and today (or a chosen date). After the full years, remaining complete months are counted, and finally the leftover days. For example, if you were born on 15 March 1990 and today is 25 April 2026, you are 36 years, 1 month and 10 days old.

The "Calculate Age As Of" field lets you check your age on any past or future date — useful for verifying age eligibility, planning milestones, or satisfying curiosity.

Total Days Lived

The total days figure counts every calendar day from your date of birth to the reference date, including leap days. As a rough guide: a 20-year-old has lived around 7,305 days; a 40-year-old around 14,610 days; and a 70-year-old around 25,567 days.

Days Until Your Next Birthday

The calculator counts the exact number of days from today until your next birthday. If today is your birthday, it will count to your next one in 365 (or 366 in a leap year) days.

Western Zodiac Signs

Your star sign is based on the Western (tropical) zodiac and is determined by your date of birth. The 12 signs and their date ranges are: Aries (21 Mar – 19 Apr), Taurus (20 Apr – 20 May), Gemini (21 May – 20 Jun), Cancer (21 Jun – 22 Jul), Leo (23 Jul – 22 Aug), Virgo (23 Aug – 22 Sep), Libra (23 Sep – 22 Oct), Scorpio (23 Oct – 21 Nov), Sagittarius (22 Nov – 21 Dec), Capricorn (22 Dec – 19 Jan), Aquarius (20 Jan – 18 Feb), and Pisces (19 Feb – 20 Mar).

Frequently Asked Questions

How is age calculated exactly? Age is counted by the number of full years, then remaining full months, then leftover days between your birth date and the reference date. A year completes on the same calendar date each year.

What if I was born on 29 February (leap day)? In non-leap years, this calculator treats 1 March as your birthday for age and countdown purposes, which is the convention used in most jurisdictions.

Can I calculate my age on a future date? Yes — enter any future date in the "Calculate Age As Of" field to see how old you will be on that day. Useful for planning retirement, eligibility checks, and milestone birthdays.

How many days old am I? Enter your date of birth and press Calculate Age — the result panel shows your exact total days lived. A typical 30-year-old has lived approximately 10,950 days.

What star sign am I? Your Western zodiac sign is determined by your month and day of birth. The calculator displays it automatically from the birth date you enter.
