About the Days Until Calculator
The Days Until Calculator tells you exactly how many days are left until any future date — or how many days have passed since a date in the past. Enter a target date and instantly see the countdown in days, weeks, weekdays (business days) and months. It is perfect for counting down to a holiday, wedding, exam, product launch, payday or any important deadline.
How the countdown is calculated
- Days = the whole number of calendar days between today and the target date.
- Weeks = days ÷ 7, shown as full weeks plus leftover days.
- Weekdays = days excluding Saturdays and Sundays — useful for working-day deadlines.
- Months & days = the gap expressed in whole calendar months plus remaining days.
For example, if today is 2 June 2026 and your target is 25 December 2026, there are 206 days — about 29 weeks and 3 days — until Christmas.
Why use a days-until counter?
Counting in your head across month boundaries and leap years is error-prone. This tool handles month lengths and the 2028 leap day automatically, so a quick check beats manual counting every time. If the date you enter is in the past, the calculator switches to "days since" mode and shows how long ago it was.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many days until a date? Pick the date above and the calculator shows the exact number of days from today, plus the equivalent in weeks, weekdays and months.
Does it count today or the target day? It counts the number of nights between the two dates — i.e. the target day minus today. A date that is "tomorrow" shows as 1 day.
What are weekdays? Weekdays are Monday to Friday. The weekday figure excludes weekends, which is handy for business or working-day deadlines.
Can I count days since a past event? Yes. Enter any past date and the result shows how many days have elapsed since then.
