⏱️ Hourly Wage Calculator (Stundenlohn)

Convert a German hourly wage into monthly and yearly gross and net pay for 2026 — ideal for hourly and part-time (Teilzeit) contracts. Uses the official 2026 wage tax and social security.

⚠️ Guidance only. Monthly gross is your hourly wage × weekly hours × 13/3 (the standard German convention of ≈4.33 weeks per month), and the net follows the official 2026 wage-tax tariff and social-security rates for Steuerklasse I–VI. It assumes statutory health insurance and a 2.9% Zusatzbeitrag, and does not include overtime, bonuses or shift premiums. Below the 2026 Geringfügigkeitsgrenze (€556/month) different Minijob rules apply — use the Minijob/Midijob calculator. For payroll-exact figures consult your employer.

From hourly wage (Stundenlohn) to net pay

To turn an hourly wage into a monthly salary the standard German method multiplies your hourly rate by your weekly hours and by 13/3 — that is about 4.33 weeks per month, which spreads 52 weeks evenly over 12 months. A 40-hour week therefore equals roughly 173.3 paid hours a month; a 30-hour week about 130 hours; a 20-hour part-time week about 86.7 hours.

Part-time (Teilzeit)

For part-time work simply enter your real weekly hours — the gross and net scale down proportionally. Note that very low monthly earnings fall under special rules: below €556 a month (the 2026 Geringfügigkeitsgrenze) the job is a Minijob, and between €556 and €2,000 it is a Midijob with reduced employee contributions. Our Minijob/Midijob calculator covers that range.

Minimum wage (Mindestlohn) 2026

The statutory minimum wage rises to €13.90 per hour from 1 January 2026 (and to €14.60 in 2027). At 40 hours a week that is around €2,409 gross per month. This calculator works for any hourly rate at or above the minimum and shows the net you actually keep after tax and social security.
